Amaravati was the site of a major temple in southern India. The knowledge of its existence has reached us through 19th century travel diaries and the sculptural tondos from the facade. My images — that merge plan and elevation-propose a re visitation or evocation rather than a reconstruction — of this early Buddhist site.

A selection from a larger series.
